3 years wedding anniversary

Amazing it's been 3 years since we stood at Karön and shared a wonderful day with our friends and family. 

Home again

After driving in the rain we finally arrived to our house. Will be nice sleeping in our own bed.

Overall a great trip with a lot of experience and fantastic people. 

Altenmark to Hamburg

We left Altenmark at 9 o'clock and drove to Hamburg. We don't know how we did it but we managed to drive those 972 km without one stau. 

After checking in we took a walk downtown and had a nice dinner by the Binnenalster. 

Today we woke up in a rainy Hamburg so we did our sightseeing from the car. 

Now we've set course for Rödeby where Maggi, Þóra, Kristján Gísli, Svartur and Doris are waiting for us. 

A day in the alps

A good day in the alps. The plan was to rent some e-bikes but it was raining so much so we took the car. 

We started in Flachau-winkel at the Ofentürl and took a look at Rupert and Kerstins project. They are building apartments to rent out to skiers. 

Then we drove up to a cabin little further away. It was so beautiful almost like a fairytale. 

In the evening we went for dinner and Rupert and Kerstin came with us. We also met more friends of Thomas and Lotta, Robert and Agge. 

It's been such a wonderful time in Altenmark, today we start driving home. 

Altenmarkt im Pongau

We left Croatia around two o'clock yesterday and headed for Austria. We are in Altenmarkt now with Thomas and Lotta. When we arrived yesterday we went out for a very nice dinner at Shartner with Thomas, Lotta, Kerstin and Rupert. 

We started our day with rafting, it was so much fun. 3 full rafts and a lot of waterbattles between the rafts. 

In the afternoon we visited Dachstein destilleri.

Relaxing, sunbathing and enjoying life in Croatia. 

Chiaggio vs Venice

We spent last night in Chiaggio a sister city to Venice. 

Small town with small canals, friendly people, open market with seafood, ham, fruit and vegetables. Today was also a market in the town center. 

We left Chioggia and drove on to Venice which is also a beautiful city but so full of tourists. 

Now we are heading for Croatia for couple of days relaxing in the sun before we head to Austria to visit our friends Thomas and Lotta on our way home. 

Stuck in traffic

We started our day early and drove to Pisa. There we and every other tourist walked around with our cameras at torre pendante. At least we didn't pose trying to straighten the leaning tower. 

We had a plan to drive to San Marino, but on this very warm day 38° a motor vehicle started burning at the autostrada so we've been standing still for hours. In the heat, through rain and thunderstorm and in the heat again.

It's like this, probably all the way to Firenze and to the accident. 

Now we're staying with our original plan, and are heading for Chioggia. 

Apparently an oil truck drove into the siderail, flipped, oil leaked out and started burning.

Riomaggiore is also wonderful 

 

We had the greatest meal tonight. 

Deep fried anchovies as a starter and a mixed seafood risotto as a main course. 

Of course with some local wine. 

And a mohito to finish off a perfect day

Cinque Terre (five towns)

Today we are in cinque terre. It's five small towns in the hillside. We visited three of them, Monterosso the biggest one. 

There we had a big cold beer and a swim. 

Then we went to Manarola the smallest one for lunch and had the most wonderful mussels and grilled tuna fish, and of course some local wines. 

We are spending the night in Riomaggiore, we just came back to the hotel after a nice cooling dip in the ocean. 

Now we're heading out for dinner, trying some more local seafood. 

Lake Como, lake Garda and La Spezia

Didn't meet Clooney. 

We continued our journey to the Garda lake. 

Had lunch in Salo, I think I died a little and went to food heaven, the spaghetti con vongole was fabulous. 

Now we are in La Spezia at the Mediterranean, had a wonderful meal and some Chianti and are ready to call it a night. Tomorrow we're going to Cinque Terre 

5 countries in one day

We started our trip today in Kassel, Germany and the road took us to Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and finally to Italy. 

It's been a long day with a lot of "stau am autobahn". 

Arnstein drove by Arnstein today. 

We had dinner in Vaduz the capital of Liechtenstein, wonderful pizza.

We drove through beautiful mountain passes in Switzerland. 

Now we have finally arrived to our hotel in Soricio by lake Como and are enjoying a glass of local produced wine.
